"Embrace of the Mountain and the Ocean, Cultural Diversity and Hippotheraphy” Kamala Sub-district is in Kathu District, Phuket. Formerly, this subdistrict was named Kamara until B.E.2486 some people pointed out that Kamara had no meaning so that the name was changed to Kamala, the combination between Thai and Indian language which means lotus.
